Our Experts

Cody grew up in the insurance industry. He followed his mother, Wendy Larsen, a 17-year insurance veteran, into the business in May 2006 after serving as a Sergeant (E-5) in the United States Marine Corp. His military background gave Cody the leadership skills and discipline needed to excel at taking care of his clients.

Previously, as a leader at HealthMarkets, one of the largest U.S. agencies, Cody recruited and trained new agents for 10 years while also maintaining his own workload. Cody led one of HealthMarkets’ top producing teams before leaving the company in 2018 to start RMS Insurance Services with Amanda, his wife.

Cody graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 2000 and began working toward his MBA at NMSU and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. A lifelong learner, Cody uses every opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills to make him a better insurance consultant for his clients.

Amanda has been a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit her entire career. In 1998, she entered the insurance industry at age 16, eager to learn as much as possible as an office assistant for a P&C agency in Kingman, Arizona. It only took a couple of years for Amanda to realize she wanted to start her own agency for the company. However, their minimum requirement of $5,000 in liquid assets was beyond the reach of 18-year-old Amanda.

Amanda then joined HealthMarkets, and although top management “took bets” she wouldn’t last because of her tender age, Amanda quickly became one of the highest producers in the company’s history. She was also the youngest person to ever vest in their stock program and was the first female to write $1,000,000 in annualized volume in the company’s history.

In 2018, after 16 years with HealthMarkets, Amanda joined Cody in starting their own agency. Being a high-performer continues to drive Amanda, but she’s also guided by her desire to help people get the healthcare insurance they need at a cost they can afford. As those managers at HealthMarkets learned years ago, never bet against Amanda. But you can sure bet ON Amanda.
